Are All Children Raptured?

Published: August 13, 2008 (Originally published: August 13, 2008)
Q

I do not believe that “all” children will be raptured as some teach. First an analogy of the last days judgment could be the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. There no children were spared.

Second…and a better analogy…would be the story of Noah. There, all breathing life was destroyed, except that which was on the ark (i.e. Noah and his wife and children), and all the remaining children on earth were destroyed with no exception.

Third…the first part of the tribulation is described like “the days of Noah”….”eating and drinking and marrying” (business as usual…odd if a billion children had disappeared) and thus a parallel is made between the two events.

Fourth during the last half of the 7 year tribulation the earth dwellers are described as having trouble getting enough food….a problem that would certainly be exacerbated by the presence of unbelievers children desperately needing to be fed.

Fifth logic dictates and scripture suggests that a “believers” children will be raptured/saved (e.g. Noah’s children) but an “unbelievers” children will not be raptured/saved (e.g. all children of unbelievers in Noah’s day).

No children are mentioned in Daniel’s 70th Week or Rev 6-19. Is that because all children are raptured? Children are innocent; sinners of course, but not of age to even understand sin or commit their lives to Jesus. Will those living at the time of the rapture be caught up even though they are not part of the Church?

I have been contemplating these times and the rapture. I’m wondering, if for a time, no one will be come pregnant? If the mother is not a believer (follower of Christ) at the point of rapture will the child evacuate the womb and be taken back to heaven with all the other children?

Children And The Rapture

Q

We recently had a discussion with others concerning young children whose parents are Christians and would be taken at the Rapture. The question arose as to whether the children – quite young, would go to heaven by the Rapture or would they be left on this earth to go thru the tribulation.

John 3:16 says “Whosoever believeth..” but the problem is young children may not fully understand what that means. Can you give us some scriptural light on this?

Someone asked about children conceived after the rapture. This jogged my memory about the children who will be raptured. It would seem to me that 1 Cor 7:14 talks to this subject. Do you agree?

I’ve read in several of your answers that you believe all children under the age of accountability will be taken during the rapture, even the children of non Christian parents. And I think that is wonderful as the more that can escape the tribulation the better. My question is simply this, that if the children of the wicked were left to die with their parents during Noah’s flood and at Sodom/Gomorrah. Why would the children of non Christians be taken at the rapture? Is there scripture that leads you to believe this? Thank you for a magnificent and informative site, I admire your work and dedication very much.

Raptured Children

I am searching scripture looking for something that tells me that the children under the age of accountability will also be taken in the rapture. A friend asked me this and I told her that yes they would be removed at the rapture but could not back-up my statement with scripture that actually spells that out.

Will My Children Be Raptured with Me?

Q

I was wondering if you could provide any Biblical basis to the idea children will be taken away during the rapture. I am saved, and have two sons, 6 and 7 years old. I truly believe we Christians will not be here to see the next presidential election due to the rapture occurring. I am concerned about my sons being left behind, and being unable to fend for themselves during the ensuing inevitable hell on Earth. I have heard others speak of a theory of children being taken to heaven along with adult believers, but I can not find anything about this in the Word. Any ideas? thank you in advance.

Who Gets Raptured?

I have been reading your website everyday for about two months now. It was emailed to me as a link from a member of my Sunday school class. The first article I read was the Seven Major Prophetic signs of the Second Coming. After I read it I was hooked. I have read every article you have written on the rapture and prophecy related to current events. Thank you for your diligence and faithfulness to the Word.

I was looking through the FAQ section of (another site) and the author was fielding questions related to the rapture of children and anti pre-trib believers. He was suggesting that the children of unbelieving parents, as well as those who were against a pre-trib view of the rapture, would not be raptured.

For the record, I am a pre-trib believer who also believes that all children who have not yet reached the age of accountability will be raptured. I base this belief on Deuteronomy 1:39, “Moreover, your little ones who you said would become a prey, and your sons, who this day have no knowledge of good or evil, shall enter there, and I will give it to them and they shall possess it.”

I know this passage is not talking about the rapture, but to me it paints a picture of a God of grace who will judge each person according to his/her own choices and not the sins of the parents. If my application of this passage is correct it seems clear that God will most definitely rapture all children who have not yet reached the age of accountability. However, how do you reconcile this passage with other passages which talk about entire households being killed for the sins of the father (Achan, for example)?

Also, in reference to anti pre-trib believers not being raptured, I cannot find any support for this claim. Although I am confident based on your other articles that you agree with my view that they will most certainly be raptured with the rest of us, how would you answer someone who makes the claim that they will not be?

Thanks for you answers in advance. Again, I greatly appreciate your ministry.

Children In The Rapture

Some people teach that all children under the age of accountability will be raptured, but I am having trouble reconciling this with scripture. If we use things in the OT as “types” I cannot make it fit, e.g. in the flood only Noah and his family were saved out of it, but presumably any children under the age of accountability who died would go to be with the Lord, but they still suffered physical death.

Also with Lot and his family being taken out of Sodom, the children under the age of accountability were not taken out but suffered physical death, even though they then would go to be with the Lord.

Surely it will be the same with the rapture; any children that die in the Tribulation under the age of accountability will go to be with the Lord and those that reach the age of accountability will have the opportunity to receive salvation. Can you shed any light on this? Thank you so much.
