Who Was Melchizedek, Really?

Published: August 19, 2022
Q

I have a question concerning the identity of Melchizedek. Who was he? I have an old Wall Chart History of the World book that hints at him possibly being Shem, however Hebrews 7:3 speaks about Melchizedek having no father, no mother, having neither end of days, nor beginning of life. However, in verse 4 it says he was a great man. I’ve also heard that he is the pre-incarnate Christ. Can you shed light on this? Thank the Lord for your ministry.

Is Sin A Person?

Published: August 18, 2022
Q

Our bible teacher told us that “SIN” is a person. I cant seem to get that idea in my mind, I believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, but that i can understand. I am having a real hard time with this one. I know God has given you wisdom in the Bible, seems like one of our household is always calling upon Gracethrufaith for answers Thank you so much for being around and God bless you.

Progressive Dispensationalism

Q

I’ve been hearing and reading lately that Dallas Seminary is drifting away from the seven dispensations and is leaning to “progressive dispensationalism” which, I’m told, say there are four. Do you have any insight into this? Thank you, again, for your ministry. We are all blessed from it.

Ranks Of 100s and 50s

Q

At the feeding of the 5000 Why did Jesus divide them into groups by rank, 100’s, 50’s? (Mark 6:30-44)

First To The Jews

Published: August 17, 2022
Q

I have a quick question concerning to the Jew first. Jesus commanded his disciples to only witness to the Jews at the beginning of his ministry. We see in Acts Paul also went to the synagogues first before sharing the gospel with the gentiles. Do you feel this is an example we all should follow, to share with Jews first and then to gentiles if we cannot reach or find any Jews? I have a fuzzy idea why Jesus and Paul did this, but any ideas you might have as to why the Jew first would be greatly appreciated.

Present With The Lord

Q

Will you please explain II Corinthians 5:6-8. Does this mean when a believer dies he is going to be immediately present with the Lord?

Falling Away In Testing?

Published: August 17, 2022
Q

I have a question regarding the parable of the seed sower in Luke 8:5-9. The group mentioned in the third example, those who accept it then fall away in testing is the one that gets to me. Who are they, and what does it mean? I thought one could not fall away and believe it. But sometimes I fall into sin and this part comes up and I get worried.

Can He Give It Back?

Published: August 16, 2022
Q

As a follow up to OSAS and Galatians 5, is it possible for a believer to voluntarily surrender his or her salvation? I have a brother-in-law who got saved and left the Catholic church many years ago, then recently returned to Catholicism because now he believes he has to have the sacraments to be saved. Other members of the family believe he may have lost his salvation. How can I explain to them that he has not?

Overcoming Sexual Sin

Published: August 16, 2022
Q

I believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty for my sins. I have confessed I am a sinner and try to repent of my sins but the only really big sin I can’t seem to stop is sexual sin. I don’t have sex with anyone in real life but I fantasize about it almost constantly. I am a computer addict and have “cyber sex” occasionally and look at pics of naked people. I cannot seem to stop this behavior. I have asked Jesus to help me and He did help me to stop my hourlong fantasies at bedtime but I still have impure thoughts. What can I do?

Lay Down And Roll Over, Or Stand Up?

Published: August 16, 2022
Q

I have a question for you that I’ve asked many others about and have never gotten a real answer.

Where and in what manner did Jesus draw the line between “turning the other cheek” and standing up for oneself?

I mean, if I break into your house, kill your dog and child, rape your wife, and attempt to slit your throat, I don’t think the first words out of your mouth would be “I know you are struggling with sin and I’m praying for you”. Granted this is an extreme case.

I know Jesus said that we are to submit to authority. But does that mean any and all authority no matter from whence it cometh? What If that authority can proclaim its “power” only through deception, illegitimacy, ignorance of the people, or fiat decree? i know you’re well versed in the insidious goings on in this country and world and you know all the alphabet soup gangs just make everything up as they go along and if the law happens to accidentally support their position so much the better.

So when am I required to stand up for myself or family and when am I supposed to “just get over it, Jesus is coming soon and in the end, it’ll all come out in the wash anyway.”
