Jesus … God And Man – Revisited

Published: November 17, 2015
Q

How is it possible for God to set aside divinity? I’ve struggled with getting my mind around God becoming man, entering into time, doing His restoration work, then leaving (though depositing the Holy Spirit to remain until the Gathering). Your comments have put my mind spinning.

Doesn’t this kinda “blow out of the water” the notions of people that miracles don’t happen today? If Jesus was on Earth only operating as a man under the power of the Holy spirit and not under His divine power as God, then this opens a whole other dimension to me. But the question still comes up, can God separate Himself like that?

What About Repentance?

Q

Great site, I am blessed by your insights.

Here’s a follow up question for you on “Are any homosexuals saved?”: You make good points on confession and asking forgiveness for sins, but how does repentance fit in in your view? I am thinking of specific scriptures such as “repent or perish”, “but unless you stop sinning, you too will perish”, “the one who continues to sin is not born of God”, etc.

Am I Working For The Laodicean Church?

Published: November 12, 2015
Q

Thanks for your site. I’ve just recently become interested in prophecy, and now I can’t get enough.

I have always felt called to work in the church, so when a position opened up a few years ago through kind of unusual circumstances, I believed that God was directing me to it. It is not at all what I expected. This church teaches some of the most bizarre doctrine I’ve ever heard (it is a mainstream Protestant church). I have tried to chalk the nagging feeling that something is really wrong with their theology up to political differences, but with my recent research on Revelation I’m starting to wonder if it fits the description of the apostate church. Yesterday I found a book here by a highly regarded author in this congregation that literally stated that viewing Christ’s death as atonement for our sins is wrong. He actually said, “I don’t want to serve a God that would kill his own son.”

My job here is in communications, so essentially I am responsible for publicizing the church. It terrifies me to think that I am willfully advertising for this kind of thing and drawing people into it. Yet the feeling that I’m called to be in the church remains. Would God actually want to use me in that capacity? I keep praying about this, but so far I have no answer.

By the way, I’m in no position here to voice my opposition to theological doctrine. The powers that be have a pretty tight grip, and they clearly do not think I have anything worthwhile to say on religious matters. I am also not a member; I attend an evangelical church in a neighboring town.

Any insight you have to offer on this situation would be much appreciated. Thank you for faithfully spreading the Truth to the world.

Line Upon Line, Precept Upon Precept

Published: November 12, 2015
Q

Isaiah 28:9&10 says line upon line precept upon precept” this is not only repeated in the same verse, but also in verse 13, I have always found that when something is repeated that many times it must be important. Could you please explain these verses to me?

Is My Brother Saved?

Published: November 12, 2015
Q

My brother passed on 4 days ago. He accepted Christ when he was a teenager. He fell in love with a Moslem lady and 2 years ago became a Moslem so that he could marry her. Does Ephesians 1:13-14 apply in his case? We have been praying for him since and felt so sad to see that he died without ever coming back to the Lord. Have we lost him forever or is he still saved?

Dinosaurs And The Great Pyramid

Published: November 11, 2015
Q

I’m just curious as to a couple of your essays. One concerning dinosaurs and the other about the great pyramid. In the one about dinosaurs you state that they came about as a result of genetic manipulation by Satan and his fallen angels. In the other article you state that the great pyramid was created by Ham I think. One of Noah’s sons.

What I’d like to know, is this speculation on your part based on the biblical stories? Or do you have any particular references in the bible, or else where, that gives these ideas? Im not trying to discount your ideas… I just find them interesting, as you are the first person Ive heard them from. I would find it interesting to learn your viewpoints.

By the way keep up the good work on the site. Your teaching about bible prophecy and the end times is clear and concise and well supported by scripture quotes. Which is nice, when trying to verify against the bible. Like the Bereans we must always be diligent to verify against the bible.

Did God Create Sin?

Published: November 11, 2015
Q

I recently “discovered” a verse in the book of Isaiah 45:7 and I quote, I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these [things]. If a strict interpretation of the bible is used, then this means that God creates evil or in my mind sin? What are your comments regarding this verse?

Life In The New Jerusalem

Published: November 11, 2015
Q

According to Jeremiah 30:11, God will completely destroy the nations during the Great Tribulation. What does the Hebrew word for “destroy” mean? Then, during the Millennium, it sounds as if the “world” begins in an Edenic condition again, so what will happen to restore it to that condition? Will there be miraculous acts by God to restore it physically and socially, and rebuild what sounds like essentially an agrarian society?

I’m excited by the whole scene because I’ve never been able to envision the Church sitting around in the New Jerusalem twiddling our thumbs. I see us as actively participating in meaningful work to rebuild the world and to help Jesus establish a society of justice, peace and plenty for all.

A Son’s Suicide

Published: November 11, 2015
Q

The son of friends has committed suicide and I have no idea how to console them. They were so hopeful that he would eventually come to know the Lord and then this tragedy happened. Is there anything at all in the Bible that could give them any hope for his soul? Anything you could offer would be of great help at this horrible time.
