Resurrection Or Resuscitation?

Published: September 25, 2013
Q

I have a thought to share about raising the dead. I first heard reports of this modern miracle from a missionary in Africa about four or five years ago. I believe him. The people that were raised from the dead in Christ’s time and in ours probably go straight to heaven during the natural course of their lives (in our case the rapture and in the case of the saints who came out of their graves with Christ’s ascension). I am not sure about the people raised from the dead back in Christ’s time, but the one’s now being resurrected probably will not experience the sting of death again as the rapture should take them. I don’t know— just a thought.

Teaching Against The Rapture?

Published: September 23, 2013
Q

I would like to know what will become of those who call themselves Christians, but are teaching there is no rapture? There are many who hold this belief and also teach it. Personally, I believe there is a pre-trib rapture, and there is no lack of evidence for it throughout scripture. So why don’t these who teach no rapture see it? Will it affect their own opportunity to be raptured at the pre-tribulation rapture? Or will their lack of faith and understanding be treated as any other sin? Won’t they be held accountable for misleading others by their teaching?

Resurrection Vs. Resuscitation

Published: September 23, 2013
Q

Do you make a distinction between someone who is merely brought back to life (and will die later) versus someone raised incorruptibly as in Jesus’ case and those who “put on immortality” as Paul said? Or were the others raised; in the Old Testament, during the apostles’ ministries, and when Christ rose, all of an immortal nature? And what would indicate that?

Magog. Russia Or Turkey?

Q

I’ve noticed that several teachers are now saying Russia might not be part of the Ezekiel 38 battle, but that Magog actually stands for Turkey. What do you think of that?

Would God Tell Him To Divorce Me?

Published: September 20, 2013
Q

A question, please, concerning divorce between 2 Christians. My husband of 9 1/2 years has left me, would not give me a reason, and filed for divorce which should be final soon. When I asked him if he had prayed about this, he said yes, he had prayed for guidance, and he knew God would forgive him. While I agree that God will forgive our sin, would God really “guide” someone to divorce? I also prayed throughout this interim period, but certainly did not get that answer to my prayers.

Those Who Say They Are Jews

Published: September 20, 2013
Q

Rev 2:9: “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.”

Rev 3:9: “Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie–indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.”

Concerning the “group calling themselves Jews, but are not Jews” or “the Synagogue of Satan”. Do you have any thoughts on who, currently on the world stage, this may be?

Being Fashionable Or Cross Dressing?

Published: September 20, 2013
Q

Thank you for your wonderful site. I am a female who wears slacks to church and have recently been told about Deut. 22:5. I found a Q&A you had on this subject and in your answer you stated that this passage refers to cross dressing, a deviant sexual practice. I can’t understand how you came up with this explanation. I greatly appreciate your site and have learned so much from you, but would like clarification on this

False Rapture Teaching

Published: September 16, 2013
Q

I very much believe that we are in the last days and believe that the rapture of the Church could happen at any time. When I read blogs like the one I’m sending you, I find myself feeling a bit confused. I feel excited that they seem to indicate the rapture is imminent, but I have a difficult time supporting their “prophecies” through the Bible. It is difficult to see how this could be a deception when the primary focus seems to be to encourage people to witness and tell others about Jesus because the time is short. The discussion about a “cataclysmic event” and then 3 days of darkness prior to the rapture, however, does not seem to line up with the Bible. What do you think?
