Aging in Eternity?

Published: April 17, 2010
Q

In the Left Behind series when the mother and son were raptured they made it seem that the boy had changed to become a man by the time the family was re-united in the Millennium. Will we all be around thirty ? Where did the authors get this idea and why would we all be about that age if it is true? Will children automatically be grown or will they age over the years in heaven or what? And the elderly will they be young again with no age lines or wrinkles? What does the bible say on this subject or does it even mention it?

Salvation In The Millennium

Published: April 17, 2010
Q

My husband asked me some questions over the weekend and I didn’t know the answers, so I wanted to get your opinion on them. What happens to believers on the earth who die during the Millennium? Where do their spirits go? Do they also receive immortal bodies? And, do they then come and live with us in the New Jerusalem? Thanks so much!

Was Job Resurrected?

Published: April 17, 2010
Q

I was recently listening to your audio study on 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, and you mentioned Matt. 27:51-53 where Jesus returns from Sheol with the ‘First Fruits’ of those who were in Abraham’s Bosom. But then you mentioned Job 19:25, and attributed that to the 2nd Coming. Wouldn’t Job have come back with Jesus as part of the 1st Fruits of the Resurrection or the rapture?

Why Will Jordan Escape The Anti-Christ?

Published: April 15, 2010
Q

I have learned so much from your teaching since finding your site about a year ago. I have a question about Jordan being one of the only places that elude the Anti-Christ’s control during the Great Tribulation. Why do you think that Jordan is exempt from Anti-Christ’s control (maybe other scriptures in addition to Dan. 11:41), and are there other places that also will be exempt? It seems to me at the present time Jordan is going against Israel in wanting Israel to give back land to the Palestinians.

Where Were Their Spirits, Follow Up

Published: April 14, 2010
Q

I read in your answer to Where Were Their Spirits posted on 4-10 that you mention Tabitha’s spirit having not departed. And that Eutychus’ spirit also had not departed before he was raised from the dead. But I’ve always understood that (2 Cor. 5:8) “absent from the body, present with the Lord” meant just that. Once a believer dies their spirit is immediately transferred to Heaven and does not linger around for even one second much less a few days. Have I misunderstood this? And if I have where can I find evidence for this in scripture.

Why Do We Still Sin, Follow Up

Published: April 12, 2010
Q

I came upon your response to a reader’s question titled, “Why Do We Still Sin?” and had a question about your statement pertaining to suicide. You made a reference to 1 Cor. 9:24-25 supporting your belief that Christians could kill themselves and still go to heaven. I was concerned about this because I was brought up to believe that one is hellbound when suicide is committed, Christian or not.

To endorse the belief, I later reasoned that suicide is a slap in GOD’s face and it displays one of the greatest lack of faith in addition to the premise that since we had no control and will over birth, then we have no control over our death, in regards to terminating self, as well. Please elaborate on your opinions on Christianity and suicide as it relates to 1 Cor 9:24-25.

A Case For Prayer Language?

Published: April 12, 2010
Q

What is your take on praying in the Spirit in a tongue unknown to man? “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” (1Cor. 14:2) Do you see this scripture talking of a known language but unknown to the person or congregation, or a tongue known only to the Spirit of God? The Word also refers to this tongue unknown to man but only known to the Spirit. “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” (Rom 8:26) What do you believe is meant by this?

No Sacrifice For These Sins?

Published: April 12, 2010
Q

As I read the Old Testament, I saw that there was no sacrifice for murder or adultery. Why was this, and how can we be sure that these sins are forgiven under the new covenant?

Reformed Theology, Follow Up

Published: April 10, 2010
Q

I was just reading an answer you gave on Reformed Theology. In part of your answer, you said, “Reformed theology teaches that God’s covenant with man has been transferred from Israel to the Church.” What concerned me about this was that you did not say – And this is not true. My question to you is, what are your thoughts on this issue?

Was It Really Him?

Published: April 8, 2010
Q

I know we are not to contact the dead, and I do not seek to do so. Two hours after my husband died, however, I felt that his spirit walked through my body. That is, his spirit approached me from behind, briefly was “in” my body, making me feel that he was now healthy and walking, and then walked onward swiftly. It lasted only seconds. I did not ask for this contact. But I believe it happened. Is this permitted by God? If this is not permitted, I am troubled, because I believe it happened.
