Doubting My Salvation

Published: October 18, 2024
Q

I am a born again believer. I know in my heart whom I belong to. My problem is my husband and I drink. I feel God wants me to quit. I hate my sin. I have begged God to take this away. I have even heard that a lot of people who accept Jesus as their savior, that their bad habits just go away. Why won’t God take this away from me? I also battle whether I am a truly saved since I repeatedly continue to drink. If I am completely still, I know who I belong to, but I just don’t understand this battle.

Bothered By My Sins

Q

If a person cannot live carefree in sin and yet still sins, can this internal battle be looked to as a “proof” of sorts that he or she has the Holy Spirit within and is saved?

Doubting My Faith

Published: October 18, 2024
Q

I am struggling with some things for days now, and my father told me to write to you about them. This is one of my problems, and I’m not sure if its just attacks from Satan or what because I’m constantly unsure if I’m a child of God, and I feel very afraid. What is the difference between doubt and unbelief? I am scared that I don’t have the faith to be saved, and I get a terrible fear in my heart. Can you please give me advice?

Understanding James 2:14-26

Published: October 17, 2024
Q

In James 2:14-26 he questions whether someone can be saved without works, that faith is best displayed by works, twice that faith without works is dead and useless, that a man is justified by works and not faith alone, that Abraham was justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac at the altar.

Personally I have always believed in Ephesians 2:8,9 “that we are save by grace through faith and that not of ourselves, it’s the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast.” And as you have said in the past (correct me if I am wrong) that it is what we believe and not how we behave that saves us. Is that right?

I’m Being Called To Fast

Q

I feel the Lord calling me to fast. I have prayed about it and am reading “God’s Chosen Fast.” Is it legitimate before God to fast and still drink vegetable juice and tea but have no solid foods?

Did Moses Write About Jesus?

Published: October 17, 2024
Q

In John chapter 5: 46. Jesus says, “If you believed Moses, you would believe me for he wrote about me.” Please, where does Moses write about the messiah? Your site is a source of much joy and blessing to me. Thank you for explaining God’s Word so simply and clearly.

Saved By Their Works?

Q

Re: People who are here after the Rapture. How do they fight and prove themselves worthy, especially when the anti-Christ will fool most into believing he is Christ? I ask this because I feel many left behind will still have a chance of being saved by their works.

Will We Be Judged For Unconfessed Sins?

Published: October 16, 2024
Q

I recently heard a teacher state that Christians will be judged for their sins which have not been confessed. He said that if sins were confessed and forgiveness was asked, the sins would not have to be accounted for. However, he said that if we have unconfessed sin, we will be judged for it, not for salvation, but be judged for it nevertheless. Is this something that is Biblical? I can’t seem to find this teaching for judgment of Christians for their sins.

Unity In The Church?

Published: October 15, 2024
Q

Would you take time, possibly, to address a concern I have about unity of the Spirit – no differentiation between the Jew/Greek/bond/free/male/female – and the nationality issue? I’m speaking specifically about those who are Jewish Christians. Is it a natural response to being saved as a Jew to consider oneself different from Gentile Christians?

Winning The Victory Crown

Q

Let me say first of all that I love your site – it is amazing and so informative. I was reading 1 Cor 9:24-27 and my question is what is the crown that we are obtaining here? (I know it is not salvation) Also, what is the meaning of the strict training?
