Praying For A Child’s Salvation

Published: January 6, 2025
Q

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Brother. Your site is such a blessing to me.

My question is can we have an impact on someone’s salvation through our prayers? I have always believed that we could, after all, Jesus said to ask anything in His name and it will be done, it’s certainly in His will and two or more have prayed and claimed it. I just read your response to “Can we save the dead” and now I am wondering if my prayers will help.

I have two daughters, neither of whom are believers. I have spoken in depth with my oldest and she just doesn’t “buy into” Jesus. I pray that they will come to know the Lord before the Rapture. I admit that I am not always a great example to them, I am impatient and do other sins that I ask God to forgive me of. The problem is they don’t see that I am forgiven and redeemed at the cross – they only see me as an imperfect person. But, all this aside I am a loving, frustrated mother.

How Will We Recognize Them?

Q

How will we recognize our loved ones in heaven? Will they have the same facial looks that they had on earth? I know that they are spirits but I am a bit confused on this topic. We have spoken about this topic at work and no one really knows the answer!

Does Might Mean Maybe?

Q

Re: the word “might”. This word is used in some versions of the Bible as in,’that through Him we MIGHT be saved.’ There are many other examples, i.e. ‘that we MIGHT become the Sons of God’, etc. What is the exact meaning in these instances of the use of this word? Many believers that I know think that it God is saying that these are not solid promises because might, to them, means ‘MAYBE, or it’s possible, but that it is not a sure thing. How to explain??

How Old Was Jesus When The Magi Arrived?

Published: January 2, 2025
Q

I thank the Lord for the joy that I always feel about your site. It is indeed blessed by the Holy Spirit because it makes us praise His glorious name always in the knowledge that we learned from your site.

I read one article from (another website) stating that our Lord Jesus was probably 2 years old or at least near to that age when the Wise Men arrived. The writer cited Luke and Mathew as a reference. Can you please explain further so that we can understand better?

What I understand before, a few days after Mary delivered our Lord Jesus, the wise men came and then a few days later they escaped to Egypt. But it contradicts to His dedication at the temple when He was 8 days old. Was He dedicated at the Bethlehem temple? Did they stay in Bethlehem long or return back? Did they return back to Nazareth after the dedication?

The Sick Woman And The Dead Girl

Re: The Sick Woman And The Dead Girl. I was taught that this is a type of God’s work with Israel and the Church. But I didn’t quite grasp it. Can you expound upon this?

The Two Languages Of Daniel

Thanks again for a great website. It is truly a blessing. Was the book of Daniel originally written in two languages? If so, do they correspond to God’s dealings with the Jews, and the Gentile world?

Can It Really Be That Simple?

Q

I know a person who believes Jesus is God, that He died for our salvation and rose again ascending into Heaven. The person believes he is a sinner in need of salvation, has confessed his sins and repented but can’t believe it is that easy to be born again. He says all his life he has been told things only to find out in the end that he was mislead, that what he did wasn’t enough to receive his reward and believes that applies to salvation as well. He thinks there has to be more, that just having faith is not enough. He also says that how can people be born again and keep on sinning and still be saved? What do I say?

Creation Questions

Q

In Genesis 1:28 Scripture tells us that God commanded Adam and Eve to “Be fruitful and increase in number,” but we don’t read anything about their children until chapter 4, after the fall. Did God not consider their children important enough to write about or was Cain in fact their first child? If that is the case can we speculate that the fall occurred almost immediately after Eve was created?

Explaining The Narrow Road

Q

I look forward to your daily messages. Your explanations really add depth to my knowledge of the Bible. Could you explain how one might reconcile Matthew 7:13-14 (the narrow gate & the wide gate) with Acts 16:31 (Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved)? Isn’t belief in Jesus Christ the only criterion necessary for salvation?

Did Jesus Say That?

Re: Hebrews 10:5-7. Do you think that these verses should be red letters since Christ spoke them? Are these the first words that Jesus spoke when He came to the earth?
