Not Being Fed At Church
Published: January 9, 2016Recently I was talking with our pastor regarding a pastor I had seen on TV. My my pastor said that he did not like this man because he was too pro-Israel. then he said, “I think we should support Israel and all, but I believe we are the NEW JEWS.” I was really taken aback by that comment. Too me, it seemed to imply that we, the Body of Christ, had replaced Israel, as taught in replacement theology. Also our pastor does not teach the Rapture, the Antichrist, or any of the End Times subject areas. My wife and I are both frustrated that we are not getting what we feel we need to be getting at church. We feel unfed. We do our own home Bible study every night at home, but remain unfulfilled at church. I pray about this every day. I know the Lord will make it clear to me in His own time, but any advice that you might be able to pass along would be greatly appreciated.
The Parable Of Two Sons
Published: January 9, 2016In the Parable of the Two Sons (Matt. 21:28-32) Jesus told of a father telling his sons to work in the vineyard. The first son said he wouldn’t, but changed his mind and did. The second son said he would, but changed his mind and didn’t. When Jesus asked them which one did what the father wanted they all agreed is was the first son.
“What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’
” ‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.
“Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.
“Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered.
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.”
I have always heard that in this parable Jesus was referring to the work in the church. But in a careful analysis I have found that this is not possible. The fact that Jesus choose that example for making an analogy does not mean that He was referring to any work at all, because at the end the Lord said that He was referring to John (the Baptist) who came to announce the coming of Christ. I would like to hear your comments about this.
Without Spot Or Wrinkle
Published: January 9, 2016I have a pastor friend who says the rapture is a ways off. His reasoning is that Christ said He was coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle and the present day church is no where near that. Any light that you can shed on this verse would be greatly appreciated.
Do Not Judge
Published: January 9, 2016I was speaking with a friend who said that Christians cannot lose their salvation, but a true Christian won’t continue to sin. I know that Christians should try to live a good life, and be guided by the Holy Spirit to live for God, and I want with all my heart to make the right choices but it seems more times then not, I end up failing.
More On God’s Last Call
Published: January 9, 2016In your mp3 study on Thessalonians you made the statement that in the far east GOD is issuing a last call. Can you expand on that? I’ve never heard that said before. Why would the far east have this sense of urgency when most of the west does not?
Putting All Our Eggs In One Basket
Published: January 9, 2016I was wondering if there is anything in the Bible about diversifying one’s investments (Like not putting all your eggs in one basket). Seems to me I read something like that but can’t find anything. Can you help?
Was Jesus Trained As A Pharisee?
Published: January 9, 2016I appreciate your website very much. I have found many answers reading your articles. I remember reading somewhere else that Jesus was trained as a Pharisee as a young man, that he knew many of them personally and was very familiar with their teachings, beliefs and traditions. Can you give me some guidance on this subject?
The Powerful Delusion. Follow Up
Published: January 9, 2016RE: The Powerful Delusion. How strong do you think it will be? Will people be able to resist it?
More On Conviction Or Condemnation
Published: January 9, 2016I have a question about conviction or condemnation. Would a non believer feel condemnation from Satan? Or conviction from the Holy Spirit? Would someone who worries about their salvation prove that they are saved by worrying about it? An unsaved person wouldn’t worry about their salvation, would they?
Weary Of Waiting
Published: January 9, 2016I’m a believer and I love the Lord, but lately I’ve been feeling very, very discouraged. I’m so anxiously awaiting Christ’s return for His bride and I know in my heart He’ll be here soon, but I’m growing more and more weary by the weight of this world, the weight of my flesh. Am I the only one feeling these things? It seems as if Satan is gearing up for His “big play” as the end draws near, and even the faithful are feeling faint of heart. I know I must gather my strength from prayer and God’s Word, but is there anyone else feeling these things? What encouragement do you have regarding what we should be doing as we so eagerly await the coming of our King?
