The Anointed Cherub

Published: December 26, 2022
Q

I am a little confused about this bit of the commentary on the fourth chapter of Revelation:

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” (Rev. 4:6-8) These are the four cherubim who guard the throne of God.

In the beginning there were five, but their leader betrayed both them and his trust, rebelling against God and causing the introduction of a second will in the universe. We call him by his primary activity, Satan, (it means accuser in Hebrew) but in Ezekiel 28:14 he’s called “the anointed cherub.”

Where did you get your information for this statement? I have looked in the word and I haven’t seen anything, I might be looking in the wrong place. Could you help?

Please Explain Genesis 3:15

Q

Can you please explain the following verse regarding God’s prophesy about Eve in Genesis 3:15 to me please?

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Hearing God

Q

There are times I hear the Lords voice very clearly and others when I don’t hear it at all. Many times I’ll hear his voice over something small, but when I’m in a crunch and really need his guidance I get nothing. Whats the secret? To be honest I find it to be frustrating. The bible says to draw near to God and he will draw near to you, what exactly does that mean? Is it tied into hearing from the Lord? I guess the bottom line is the Lord sent the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us.. So I want to be led and guided.

The Christian Left

Q

I came across the website of the Christian Left and their mission statement seems to be legitimate in accordance with what the Bible says about what a Christian should be. I am somewhat skeptical or suspicious though. I sense that they’re subtly inferring they are something that they are not. What do you think?

Please Explain This

Published: December 22, 2022
Q

Unbelievers have said that our Lord was never seriously challenged in his earthly judgments. They were always in response to some form of entrapment by the Temple. For example, Scripture never reports that He was ever faced with the issue of healing an amputation. Although He could have, there is no hint that He was ever asked to. That seems a bit strange. What is the answer to unbelievers in that matter? What is the answer to believers?

Teaching And Preaching

Q

Is there any difference between the teaching and the preaching of the word of God? If somebody is teaching the word of God is he is then also preaching to me?

More Law And Grace

Q

In the 4 Gospels the Law is stressed, but in Paul’s letters, Grace is stressed. Is this because Grace did not come into effect until Christ died?

Still More On The Eye Of The Needle

Re: Mark 10:25. Is there any truth in the theory that a ‘camel’ is an Aramaic reference to a thick rope used to secure boats to docks etc, which would make a lot more sense than referring to an animal?

Nimrod The Hunter

Q

I’ve recently comes across 2 people who are naming their babies ‘Hunter’. Doesn’t this mean Nimrod? And aren’t they cursing their babies? Now my nephew wants to name his son Hunter. There is still time for him to change his mind, so I would really appreciate your opinion.
