Giving To Those Without Need. Follow Up

RE: Giving To Those Without Need. I was interested to note that you didn’t comment on the lifestyles of the pastors the writer referenced. It would seem in this time when there is real need in missionary programs and others that pastors who live like this make a mockery of the teachings of Jesus concerning shepherding, stewardship, and sacrifice. How did we ever get to the point where people believe that the fact that our Savior spent His ministry homeless and penniless is a badge of shame to us?

Is It A Star Or Satan?

Published: October 18, 2010
Q

I have a question on Revelation 8:10. The star that falls to earth. I do not understand why my particular Bible, which is a New King James version, references the fallen star back to Isaiah 14:12? This cannot be referencing Lucifer at this point…can it? I took it to be just what it says, a fallen star (meteor, asteroid, etc) that was allowed to hit the earth. Can you explain why the reference to Isaiah?

Will We All Die?

Q

I do believe that some of us will be raptured before we die. But how do you explain that it is appointed once for man to die and then the judgment scripture. If we are all appointed once to die then we will all die at some point won’t we? What is your thought on this?

Raising Lazarus

Published: October 18, 2010
Q

Thank you for your ministry. I have had a question about death of Lazarus for some time. It would appear from the text that Mary and Martha were concerned that Lazarus had died because Christ wasn’t there. True statement. But Christ had already raised two people from the dead, which I assume Mary and Martha knew. I think we have got ‘their problem’ wrong. I believe they were concerned about Lazarus ‘that he had lain in the grave four days already’ and ‘Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days’. The issue was whether Christ had authority over someone being dead 4 days. Am I over complicating this or did the Jews have issues with someone being dead this long ?

Unbelievers In Torment

Published: October 17, 2010
Q

Thank you for your amazing website and your brilliant insight. When an unbeliever dies their soul goes to Hades where they suffer torment. Are they aware why they are there? Do they understand there is no way out and the worst is yet to come? Do they remember their sins and understand that is why they are in torment? Are they cut off from other souls, isolated in heat, darkness, and torment, or are they wailing away with other unsaved souls? It is my understanding an unsaved person is in eternal darkness, unaware of another soul for eternity. Is this correct?

Did Jesus Descend Into Hell?

Published: October 17, 2010
Q

In the apostles’ creed it says that Jesus descended into hell in the three days between death on the cross and resurrection. Do you believe 1) that He did descend into hell (since it’s a creed and not scripture, and 2) if He did, what do you believe the purpose of the visit was?

What Will We Do when We Get There?

Published: October 16, 2010
Q

I read a lot about the New home for myself called the New Jerusalem. But I don’t read a lot on what it will really be like. Streets of gold notwithstanding, will I walk or will I fly? Will we eat? Drink? Laugh? and what will I do with myself once I am there? Do we spend eternity worshiping Jesus and being with Him, or do we also get jobs or commands of some sort? Maybe it’s just my human nature but I like to do something not just hang around!

Why Rachael? Follow Up

Published: October 16, 2010
Q

Joseph was a picture of Christ, therefore Rachel his mother is a picture of Mary, and if Israel could only listen to the prophets, they all would be saved! Why then, if the Christian can see the ties to the Old Testament, the Jew can not see the same thing? As for what I see today Rachel is still crying.

What Happened To The Resurrected Holy People?

Published: October 15, 2010
Q

Matt. 27:52-53 says “The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus’ resurrection they went to into the holy city and appeared to many people.” What do you think happened after the resurrected saints appeared to people in the holy city ? Were they taken later to Heaven?

Also 1 Cor. 15:44 says, “It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.” I have hard time understanding the meaning of “spiritual”, for the “spiritual” is unseen.

Did Adam Understand Death, Follow Up

Q

I find it interesting that there are those that would believe Adam was ignorant of anything. Was he not a created being of God? If Nephilim had advanced knowledge, would it not stand to reason that Adam did as well?
